Abstract

Lake Beratan situated at Bali which indicated happening accidental introduction of the zebra fish (Amatitlania nigrofas-ciata). Zebra fish is a species of fish of the family Cichlidae according to IUCN Red List including the status of potential pest. Research location represents the area of the lake Beratan in the West, North, East and South. The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution and condition of zebra fish in Lake Beratan. The experiment was conducted in May, July and October 2011 using the survey and determining the location of a purposive sampling. Fish samples obtained using experimental gill nets. The composition of the zebra fish catch in Lake Beratan reached 42.68%. Zebra fish were caught, sizes ranging from 2.5 to 10.5 cm (TL) and body weight ranged from 0.254 to 22.79 g. Distribution of zebra fish in Lake Beratan was evenly at each location. Environmental conditions did not affect the life of the zebra fish. This was due to the good adaptability of the zebra fish. AbstrakDanau Beratan terletak di Bali dan terindikasi terjadi introduksi ikan zebra (Amatitlania nigrofasciata) tanpa disengaja. Ikan zebra termasuk spesies ikan dari famili Cichlidae yang menurut IUCN Red List Status termasuk spesies penggang-gu. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk memprediksi sebaran ukuran dan kondisi ikan zebra di Danau Beratan. Penelitian di-laksanakan pada bulan Mei, Juli dan Oktober 2011 dengan menggunakan metode survei. Penentuan lokasi penelitian mewakili daerah danau Beratan yaitu di bagian barat, utara, timur, dan selatan. Sampel ikan diperoleh dengan menggu-nakan jaring insang percobaan. Komposisi tangkapan ikan zebra di Danau Beratan mencapai 42,68%. Ukuran panjang total ikan zebra yang tertangkap berkisar 2,5-10,5 cm dengan bobot tubuh berkisar antara 0,254-22,79 g. Keberadaan ikan zebra di Danau Beratan hampir merata di setiap lokasi. Kondisi lingkungan tidak berpengaruh terhadap kehidupan ikan zebra, karena kemampuan adaptasi ikan zebra yang cukup baik.
