Substitusi tepung ikan dengan tepung maggot terhadap retensi nutrisi, komposisi tubuh, dan efisiensi pakan ikan bandeng (Chanos chanos Forskal) [Substitution of fish meal with flour maggot on the nutrient retention, body composition, and feed efficiency in the milkfish (Chanos Chanos Forskal)]

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the substitution of fish meal with maggot flour that generates the best response to the retention of nutrient, carcass composition and feed efficiency in milkfish. The weight of individual fish used in the experiment ranged from 0.84 to 0.87 grams, with a density 1 fish per 3 liters of media. The experiment was carried out in the aquarium with length x width x height: 50 cm x 40 cm x 50 cm equipped with a recirculation pump. The expe-riments were conducted for 40 days. The feed was given as much as 10% of biomass per day with the feeding frequency of three times per day at 07:00, 12:00, and 17:00. Experimental design used was completely randomized design with five treatments and three times replication. Treatments who attempted were the substitution of fish meal with maggot meal at 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. Parameters of the study include the protein retention, fat retention, energy retention, carcass composition and feed efficiency. Feed quality was evaluated based on the results of proximate analysis, amino acid and fatty acids composition. The results showed that the rate of substitution of fish meal with maggot meal give the same response (p>0.05) on the protein, lipid and energy retention, protein, fiber, and NFE content of the carcasss and feed efficiency.The lipid content of the carcass increased with increasing dietary lipid level. In the maintenance of fish, the use of 100% maggots can replace fish meal as a protein source.
Abstrak
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan substitusi tepung ikan dengan tepung maggot yang menghasilkan respon ter-baik terhadap retensi nutrisi, komposisi karkas dan efisiensi pakan ikan bandeng. Bobot individu ikan yang digunakan dalam percobaan berkisar antara 0,84-0,87 gram, dengan padat penebaran 1ekor per 3 liter media. Percobaan dilakukan di akuarium dengan ukuran panjang x lebar x tinggi: 50 cm x 40 cm x 50 cm yang dilengkapi dengan pompa resirkula-si.Percobaan dilakukan selama 40 hari. Pakan diberikan sebanyak 10% biomassa per hari dengan frekuensi pemberian pakan tiga kali per hari pada pukul 07.00, 12.00, dan 17.00. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan lima perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan. Perlakuan yang dicobakan adalah substitusi tepung ikan dengan tepung maggot sebesar 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% dan 100%. Parameter penelitian meliputi retensi protein, retensi le-mak, retensi energi, komposisi karkas dan efisiensi pakan. Kualitas pakan dievaluasi berdasarkan hasil analisis proksi-mat, komposisi asam amino dan asam lemak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa substitusi tepung ikan dengan tepung maggot memberikan respon yang sama (p>0,05) terhadap retensi protein, retensi lemak dan retensi energi, kandungan protein, serat kasar dan BETN karkas serta efisiensi pakan. Kandungan lemak pada tubuh ikan bandeng semakin meningkat dengan semakin meningkatnya kandungan lemak pakan. Dalam pemeliharaan ikan bandeng, penggunaan 100% maggot dapat menggantikan tepung ikan sebagai sumber protein.
